Our Story
Why We Started FindLocalNDIS
When my son was around three years old we started noticing he needed extra support. What followed was one of the most overwhelming experiences of my life — not because of my son, but because of the system we had to navigate to get him the help he needed.
Getting an NDIS diagnosis and plan took time we didn't feel we had. Meanwhile the costs kept mounting. Every therapist wanted reports. Every report cost money. And the support we needed most — speech therapy — had waitlists that stretched for months.
The hardest part wasn't the paperwork or the cost. It was not knowing where to look. Finding local providers who actually had availability, who understood autism, who were the right fit for my son — that felt almost impossible. I spent weeks making phone calls, searching Google, asking in Facebook groups, getting recommendations that led nowhere.
I kept thinking — there has to be a better way. There wasn't. So we built one.
FindLocalNDIS was created by an NDIS parent for NDIS families. A place where you can search by location, by disability type, by service — and read honest reviews from families who have been exactly where you are right now. No corporate filter. No referral games. Just real information from real families.
